Who can you trust to take care of your animals when you pass? This is a question every pet owner should consider. Not everyone has family or friends who would be able to take your pets in.
The Yavapai Humane Society has an option that will bring piece of mind: The Pet Guardianship Program. This wonderful program recognises that companion animals are an incredibly important to all of us and should be taken care of and loved properly when we no longer can.
When you join the program you leave instructions in your will to bequeath your pets to the Yavapai Humane Society. They then provide for your pet’s needs when you pass, including medical care and any other unique needs they might have. And they will find your animals a forever, loving home.
To qualify for the Pet Guardianship Program you simply need to make a contribution to the Yavapai Humane Society yearly -- any amount -- and then leave instructions in your will like this:
At the time of my death I give my pet(s) ________________________________ [name of pet, type & breed] owned by me to the Yavapai Humane Society, Prescott, Arizona to be placed in a loving home(s) pursuant to the Society’s pet guardianship program.
Remember to follow these steps:

Designate a friend, relative or neighbor to bring your pet to Yavapai Humane Society if necessary
Include Yavapai Humane Society and state your wishes in your will using our legal name: Yavapai Humane Society, Tax ID # 86-0327745
